On October 28, we invited kids from various elementary schools all over town to come to Hemming Village for a field trip! When they arrived, they were greeted by our dressed up manager
s who led them to the lobby for story time with the wicked witch! We hired Robin Clark, a professional story teller, to come dress up and read stories to the kids. After about 30 minutes of story time, the kids
were taken upstairs to decorate miniature pumpkins with the help of their teachers and the managers. After decorating, they took a tour through kiwi loco and received complementary samples of frozen yogurt!
The kids had a wonderful time! The field trip was definitely a success and will plan to do it again next year.
Outside of Hemming Village, we
had booths set up for different businesses to set up pumpkin displays. Along with that, people from the community carved pumpkins and submitted them to us. We had a jack o' lantern walk and gave away prizes for the top three pumpkins.
On Friday evening, people roamed around Hemming Village to view the displays and lights on the tress as candy was passed out. Sammy's hosted a dance for college students in the basement of Hemming Village.
On Saturday, our events began an noon. We had a hot cider bar filled with a variety treats including sugar cookies, chocolate peanut butter bars, donut holes, and more. There were free hay rides for guests. Robin Clark told stories every 30 minutes throughout the day in the main lobby of Hemming Village. People continued to roam around looking at the displays and decorations. This event was a huge hit! The stores were packed all day with customers and our name is continuing to be spread throughout the community.
On November 19th, there was flea market held in the basement of Hemming Village. Karen Kunz who runs the flea mar
ket has several vendors that sell a large array of items. There's clothing, furniture, house decorations etc. There's usually a very good turn out whenever a White Place Flea Market is held at Hemming Village!
