Prospectus:

In the 2012 edition of Prospectus Rexburg, President Kim Clark was interviewed on the university, its culture and the community that binds us all.  President Clark mentions Hemming Village a couple of times throughout the interview.  Here are a few of the questions and his answers:

PR:  What are some other programs in the university and community that push for economic growth?
KC:  A very, very important one is in play right now.  It involves the development and re-development of the zone around the university.  What you see is a lot of development.  One of the best examples is what's happening between 1st and 2nd West, and between 2nd South and 1st South.  The Hemming property is a great example of a situation where the city has strong interests in seeing that the development that takes place contributes to the quality of life and to the growth of the city in a good way.

PR:  What kinds of plans are in the works for future development?
KC:  A lot of that area is going to be student housing.  There are developers that are developers that are starting to talk to us about working in that area.  I think the city would like to see the concept (of Hemming Village) down around Center Street to Main Street take shape as you get more students living there.

There is also an article titled "Madison's Great 8".  This article lists 8 examples of excellence, endurance and entrepreneurship.  Listed at #5 is Neilsen's Frozen Custard and listed at #7 is The Atrium at Hemming Village.  We are glad we could be on this list.
